Pendaries Water Systems Improvement
San Miguel County, New Mexico
The Pendaries Water Systems Improvement project was designed to enhance the reliability and efficiency of the community’s water supply. The work included replacing 14,500 feet of outdated waterline and constructing a 6,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building to support ongoing operations. These upgrades modernize the system and strengthen critical municipal infrastructure for San Miguel County and surrounding communities in northern New Mexico.
Our engineering team performed a detailed geotechnical investigation at the site. We began with site reconnaissance to evaluate drilling access and staked test boring locations in advance of mobilization. In areas where access was limited, we collaborated with stakeholders to adjust the approach and maintain project efficiency.
A total of 21 test borings were advanced at 700-foot intervals along the replacement waterline, reaching depths of 10 to 15 feet below the existing ground surface or until auger refusal. Additionally, several test pits were performed in areas with difficult drill rig access. This investigation provided subsurface data to guide design, construction, and long-term performance of the upgraded water system.
