NCAR Wyoming Supercomputer Center in Cheyenne

NCAR Supercomputer in Cheyenne Our team provided geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and masonry inspection on the new supercomputer center in the North Range Business Park, just west of Cheyenne. The supercomputing center will provide advanced computing services to scientists across the nation in a broad range of disciplines, including weather, climate, oceanography, air pollution, space weather, computational science, energy production, and carbon sequestration. It will also house a premier data storage and archival facility that will hold, among other scientific data, unique historical climate records. NCAR’s goal is to build a world class scientific supercomputing facility that does not compromise on energy efficiency or sustainability, and that is adaptable to the ever-changing landscape of high-performance computing. Groundbreaking on this new facility took place in June of 2010 with commissioning expected in 2011.

The Depot in Cheyenne

The Depot in Cheyenne The Depot in Cheyenne is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This project consisted of the construction of a plaza area in the old parking lot north of the Depot. Our environmental services included testing the soil stockpiles in the west parking lot to determine disposal requirements and air quality testing of the foundation excavation to identify potential hazards. In addition, we performed a subsurface exploration, and prepared a geotechnical engineering analysis and report.
